CHARLIE COMPANY REUNION - 2021
From Willie Hunter, C/3/22 Association Chaplin
2021 Reunion Site – Columbus, Georgia
The city was named for the Christopher Columbus Founded in1828. The area codes for Columbus are 706 and 762. The county is Muscogee. Columbus was established in 1828 on the Chattahoochee river, and subsequent growth has been to the north and northeast. This is because of the Alabama state line and the later establishment of Ft. Benning on the south and east.
Founded in 1828, Columbus is also known as the site of the last battle of the civil war, where Columbus ranked second to Richmond in the manufacturing of supplies for the confederate army.
Columbus is a small city compared to Atlanta, but has some really nice attractions. We have a nice river walk located in downtown Columbus where you can dine out or even go white water rafting. Overall, I find Columbus a great place to live if you are looking for a not too big a city with some favorable attractions. Columbus lies 100 miles (160km) southwest of Atlanta.
In 2016 it was measured that the population of Columbus was 197,485.

From Dave DeMauro:
I always enjoy these reunions to visit with my Army buddies who I served with in Vietnam. The reunion included a tour of the Infantry Museum located just outside the gate to Fort Benning. The museum has extraordinary displays of every battle the infantry has fought since the American Revolution. We also held our Remembrance Ceremony, to honor our fallen brothers, on the Museum grounds where there is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall as well as many monuments dedicated to the Army Infantry units including our 25th Infantry Division.
Great Memories of the Reunion and Thank You to many
