Some of the things we do at the reunions: Make everyone feel welcome especially those attending for the first time Have business meetingHave a memorial service remembering and honoring our KIAs and MIA Go on tours
Have free time We always have a hospitality room Have lots of fellowship
Reasons for reunions: A special bond was formed by the times we had together and being in the same places and predicaments as each other It helps to heal or at least live with the unseen scars that we each have We get to rekindle the many friendships we have We get to build on those friendships and to create new friendships We get to see a lot of different cities and vacation in places we probably wouldn't otherwise
“I now know why men who have been to war yearn to reunite. Not to tell stories or look at old pictures. Not to laugh or weep.
Comrades gather because they long to be with the men who once acted at their best; men who suffered and sacrificed, who were stripped of their humanity.
I did not pick these men. They were delivered by fate and the military. But I know them in a way I know no other men. I have never given anyone such trust.
They were willing to guard something more precious than my life. They would have carried my reputation, the memory of me. It was part of a bargain we made, the reason we were so willing to die for one another.
As long as I have memory, I will think of them all, every day.
