Barry was a special person.  We have visited many times over the years but it never seemed to be enough. He was a soldier’s, soldier!  A great leader who was very proud of his military service and his combat experience in Vietnam.  Barry was a lifetime member of the 40 & 8, Adrian VFW Post #1584, Morenci American Legion #368 and the AMVETS.  Barry was the past National Chef de Chemin de Fer in 2013 for the 40 & 8 and was Lenawee County Veteran of the year in 2013.  This abundance of duty in variousmilitary organizations kept Barry from attending many Charlie Company reunions.  He was a frequent attendee at the Howard County Veterans gathering in Kokomo, Indiana where we enjoyed reminiscing the good old days!

Barry was one of the “GOOD GUYS” and I miss him dearly!  His smiling face and outgoing personality will forever be etched in my mind.  Please remember him in your thoughts and prayers!

Rest in Peace dear friend…………………….

 Dave  Gehr

In Loving Memory of Barry Kent Bovee - Born May 18,  1946, Adrian.  Michigan - Died August 23,  2014,Adrian,  Michigan

Robert Steele

Robert William Steele "Bob" age 68 was born in Boston, Massachusetts in August, 1946. Bob passed away in his Grover Beach home with his family by his side on October 6, 2014. As most who knew Bob, he was a hard working and humorous man. He is best known for his saying "Do it right the first time, or don't do it at all." He was the kind of guy you remembered after meeting him. His devoted wife Chris, loving daughter Sarah and her husband Michael, and his only grandson Glenn survive him. Among many important family members are his loyal sister Karen and her husband Wayne; his brother, Jack and the many nieces and nephews he loved so dearly. Bob was a Veteran serving his country in the Vietnam War as a rifleman in Company C, 3rd Battalion, 22nd infantry of the 3rd brigade. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Purple Heart medal for his bravery and service. Despite his disability, he lived his life with a positive attitude and loved his work as a carpenter. He took pride in his craftsmanship and was referred to as "Bob the Builder" or "Slambo" on the job. A celebration of life will be held at The Monarch Club at Trilogy Monarch Dunes 1645 Trilogy Parkway Nipomo, California on Sunday October 19, 2014 from 11am-2pm. Sign his guestbook at san luisobispo.com/obituaries

This morning  Joe Nett, 4th Platoon,  1966-67,  started humping his last patrol.  Going to visit Joe this afternoon we discovered that Joe passed away a few hours earlier.   Joe was a good man, a good soldier, a loyal Charlie Company member and a good friend!

Joe will be missed by many!

Sadly, Dave Gehr
